They say a picture is worth 1,000 words… and the marketing world, that quote could never be truer 📸
Quality photos are so so so important in a product-based business, especially if they are being used to convert leads to sales on Instagram and online stores.
‼️ Think about it: 93% of consumers consider visual content to be the key deciding factor in a purchasing decision.
Not only does quality product photography give you a higher standard of professionalism, it:
👏 showcases your talents and skills in making/selling the product
👏 communicates the condition and monetary value to the customer
👏 alters the shopper’s behaviors and habits through color theory and visual psychology
If the customer is unable to physically touch the products across the screen, you need to be able to convince them that they need it and it is worth them spending their money without trying it in-person 💰
There are 3 simple steps you can take to elevate your product photos:
1️⃣ Use props and a neutral background so your products really stand out. Consider where your customer may use it in their lives and mimic that environment in the photo
2️⃣ Make sure the lighting is good to start with. Editing a photo is possible, but unless you are a @lightroom pro, it is easier to do if the picture is well lit. Plan to shoot photos either first thing in the morning, when there is natural sunlight ☀️ Or, wait until dusk when it is “golden hour.”
3️⃣ To create consistency within your brand, consider using a color palette to ensure your IG photos flow on your grid. This may mean incorporating one color into each of your photos, or using the same editing techniques each time
