Vermont Pub & Brewery

Vermont Pub & Brewery has been a pillar of the craft beer community since 1988, with a loyal fan base and a reputation built over decades. But while the restaurant filled seats on the weekend, its social media presence hadn’t kept pace.

Content felt dated and inconsistent, making it harder to reach a younger audience discovering eateries through social platforms. Social media was managed in-house by the general manager, and during busy service periods, posting naturally fell behind, leading to missed opportunities for visibility and discovery. At the same time, nearby competitors were investing heavily in modern, engaging social content, raising the stakes for staying relevant in a crowded market.

The Strategy

A strategic refresh designed to modernize a legacy brand without losing what made it iconic.

Consistent and Professional Management

We implemented a reliable posting cadence of 3–4 times per week, an ideal rhythm for the food and beverage industry that balanced visibility without oversaturation. This consistency allowed us to build out clear content pillars that showcased VPB’s full experience, from beer and food to the people behind the bar.

We conducted a competitive audit of other local breweries to understand what was resonating and where VPB had room to stand out. From there, we raised the bar on content quality, tone, and presentation to intentionally reposition VPB alongside Burlington’s most talked-about brewery brands. The goal was clear: shift perception, modernize the brand’s presence, and make it unmistakable that VPB was just as relevant, fun, and cool as its peers.

Competitive Positioning

While Reels weren’t new to the brand, they weren’t being used strategically. We refined the approach by incorporating strong hooks, trending audio, and (most importantly) real VPB employees. Featuring the people guests actually see and interact with created a more authentic, human connection and naturally aligned with the younger audience VPB wanted to reach and engage with.

Working with The Winfield Creative has been a great experience. Brittany is a talented photographer and videographer, which makes it a true one-stop shop for our social media needs. She’s responsive, organized, and incredibly easy to work with, and she does a wonderful job showcasing the personality and history of Vermont Pub & Brewery online. I appreciate that I hardly need to touch anything in our social media department—it’s a huge weight off my shoulders. Time is valuable, and Brittany gives me more of it!
